Procedure for Getting a Police Clearance Certificate
In India, foreign nationals must get a Police Clearance Certificate from the District Police in their area of residency. When the original certificate is produced, the High Commission may attest copies of the certificate. The applicant must apply for a police clearance certificate using the completed prescribed application form (personal particular). Original signatures are needed for every part; be sure to fill them all in black ink and block capitals. Documentation of a valid stay in India is also necessary for this procedure. As specified by the applicants in their application, the forwarding address is where the certificates will be mailed. If no criminal record is found, the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) takes 8 to 10 working days to process the application. After that, they send a certified criminal record check (hard copy) by ordinary mail. The information from the police criminal record is dated, numbered and stamped by the Deputy Commissioner of Police or a comparable police officer. The signature of the appropriate police officer will also be on the paper. If you need it immediately, the NCRB can deliver it to our organisation, and we can transmit it to you by courier for an extra fee.
